could use some subbass in the DnB part

... to make the mix sound fuller. But other than that, I'm all for what you've got here! Keep it up and finish it soon! Can't take all this waiting xD

TranceCrafter responds:

Done and done :P just updated the mp3 so it has more bass and some added details :)

woah!

that's one good song you've got there. The techno beats and side-chaining were spectacular. There was an excellent amount of sound and structural variety, which made the song a joy to listen to through and through. I loved all of the instruments; they were all well mastered. My only main comments are that the song was a little heavy with treble (ear-piercing heavy; ex. at 0:09). There were also parts where the song started to clip a little (ex. at 0:20). Equalizing and adjusting to accommodate these slight things won't be a problem for someone as experienced in music production as yourself. Anyways, all things aside, I really enjoyed listening to this song. Best of luck with your new album! :)

Rukkus responds:

Thanks a lot for this helpful review pure! I've noticed those problem as well. I'll try to have them fixed soon.

needs more bass!

the highs and the mids are excellent, but more bass would make the sound much more rounder and fuller in my opinion

TranceCrafter responds:

k will do. ;)

I've been working to make the bass much "bigger" sounding already, was a lot smaller sounding before but I suppose I could increase it a few more notches :P

omfg yes.

I'd love to hear you make a song based on the style from 0:55 to 1:21. it might make one freaking good dance song or something unique. just love that style.

Nechura responds:

yeah ay, cheers dude.

everything was great...

.. but the snares just killed it for me. it sounded like helicopter clippings to be honest, which is not the best thing on the ears. Everything else was great: the brass hits were nice, and the orchestration was spot on. Love the structural variety and melodic variation the piece had as well. the snares just killed it for me, though

Gravey responds:

Hmmm...Sorry you feel that way. I actually like the snare. You can't please everyone with everything I guess. :-P

Thanks for the review.

so freaking trippy!

love the random cromatic rises and falls and the extraordinary attention to detail! The depth, the quarkiness, the added musical gimmicks and oh gosh, the mix.. all of this just makes this song such a joy to listen to, not only once, but repeatedly over and over again.

50+ songs this year?! you're amazing man! keep up the AMAZING work!

F-777 responds:

Thanks so much!! I hope i can hit that goal =).

great mix!

my only complaints were that there was way too much sub-bass and that it was pretty repetitive both in musical structure and melodic composition. For example, there was hardly any dynamic contrast throughout the entire piece; the song was consistently loud and therefore less intense as it could be. Also, instead of having the whole piece be persistently intense, try adding some breaks that allow the listener to soak in and process what they just heard.

but there were some excellent points as well. I liked how you started and ended using 8-bit; it gave the piece a sense of roundness and a sense of ending. the little riff at the end was fresh and unexpected, and was an effective way to loop the song.

overall, a great composition! grats on weekly best :) can't wait to hear more from you!

weemeee responds:

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it !

lacks clarity, feels blurred

the whole tune seemed to be lacking in the treble and lower frequencies.

also, try to bring out the kick a little more; it was softened by all the background noise and accompaniment. Try to give each instrument its "space" in the frequency spectrum.

the ending was a little weird, and seemed rushed IMO (the sound effects, the fade out... in other words, the ending didn't seem dynamic)

otherwise, it was a pretty neat song! I enjoyed the happy melody :)

viewtifulday responds:

Thanks for your feedback--I'll definitely take it into consideration when creating future tracks.

And just so you know, I made this, like, almost a year ago, when I was kinda new at this. So, yeah, it does kinda suck. ^^;

tearful, inspirational, and powerful.

don't get dissuaded by those ignorant 0-bombers. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. loved that introduction.. can't wait to hear more of this, this is amazing (and I can't believe it isn't mastered). keep this up! don't drop this, please.

R3LL1K4 responds:

Thank you, you've always been a good fan and I appreciate all your reviews. I do plan on finishing it. Though, what you hear now might be subject to small changes and such. If you have any personal suggestions to the song, feel free to drop me a PM any time, I'd look forward to it. Oh, and as for the mastering, I haven't actually gone in and made sure it was mastered, but I've gotten pretty good at getting things right the first time.

finally, something worthy of weekly best

great song! I've trying cut down on newgrounds downloads, but I couldn't pass on this one. all instruments sound so crisp. loved that piano break. .. but the song started to get a little repetitive in the end in my opinion. the rest of the song was great, so that little thing doesn't detract from the score. can't wait for instrumental piece 2 :)

another wonder gravey composition, worthy of a 5 rating, 10/10 score, and a download +fav as an artist

Gravey responds:

Thank you much. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece.
