everything was great...

.. but the snares just killed it for me. it sounded like helicopter clippings to be honest, which is not the best thing on the ears. Everything else was great: the brass hits were nice, and the orchestration was spot on. Love the structural variety and melodic variation the piece had as well. the snares just killed it for me, though

Gravey responds:

Hmmm...Sorry you feel that way. I actually like the snare. You can't please everyone with everything I guess. :-P

Thanks for the review.

so freaking trippy!

love the random cromatic rises and falls and the extraordinary attention to detail! The depth, the quarkiness, the added musical gimmicks and oh gosh, the mix.. all of this just makes this song such a joy to listen to, not only once, but repeatedly over and over again.

50+ songs this year?! you're amazing man! keep up the AMAZING work!

Thanks so much!! I hope i can hit that goal =).

typical xkore

there could've been more punch after the drop (it needed some extra power, some extra oomph initially), but otherwise, it was great!

and I thought those 'laser shots' were a clever touch to be honest xD

great mix!

my only complaints were that there was way too much sub-bass and that it was pretty repetitive both in musical structure and melodic composition. For example, there was hardly any dynamic contrast throughout the entire piece; the song was consistently loud and therefore less intense as it could be. Also, instead of having the whole piece be persistently intense, try adding some breaks that allow the listener to soak in and process what they just heard.

but there were some excellent points as well. I liked how you started and ended using 8-bit; it gave the piece a sense of roundness and a sense of ending. the little riff at the end was fresh and unexpected, and was an effective way to loop the song.

overall, a great composition! grats on weekly best :) can't wait to hear more from you!

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it !

ah, now this is what I'm talking about!

this song is so trippy! XD I loved the intro!

the vocal clipping is excellently executed. I love how the dubstep wobbles are distinct and clear, but not overpowering, and just add to the overall texture. The jazz piano is well arranged. Excellent mixing- all the instruments flow together nicely.

Although the song had great structure variety, it overall was very repetitive (it's hard to make a 5:47 song not repetitive), but I guess it just adds to the overall ambience of the song. Maybe change up the dubstep bass-line or add some more perks to keep the song interesting?

ahh, that piano and trumpet outro was beautiful, and quite unexpected.

Beautifully executed! hope to hear more from you!
9/10 , 5/5 congrats on placing 2nd on the "best tracks ever" list! :) you deserved it

hm, interesting song

It makes for a nice background loop, but as for a song, it falls short. It's a bit too repetitive, in my opinion, but I guess that was part of the objective. Even so, a little more variety to the song would've been nice. Also, those snares are way too loud and stick too much out of the texture.

It's a decent song for what it was, but I just didn't think it was anything amazing or spectacular. good work, though!

lacks clarity, feels blurred

the whole tune seemed to be lacking in the treble and lower frequencies.

also, try to bring out the kick a little more; it was softened by all the background noise and accompaniment. Try to give each instrument its "space" in the frequency spectrum.

the ending was a little weird, and seemed rushed IMO (the sound effects, the fade out... in other words, the ending didn't seem dynamic)

otherwise, it was a pretty neat song! I enjoyed the happy melody :)

Thanks for your feedback--I'll definitely take it into consideration when creating future tracks.

And just so you know, I made this, like, almost a year ago, when I was kinda new at this. So, yeah, it does kinda suck. ^^;

inspirational and uplifting!

great song! love the chord progression and melody xD that odd synth that came in at 1:26 gave the song a unique texture. I love that you are still experimenting with different synths and tecnhiques x) the ending is a bit abrupt, though.

btw, I love your electro remix of kr1z's remotion!

oh my freaking gosh

this is one of my favorite songs of yours, I'm so happy you're recreating it!

and with your newer instruments and new-found music production experience.. this sounds even more beautiful than I ever imagined it to be. I didn't think your old song 'fall into the sky' could be improved on. however, you continue to shock and amaze me with your seemingly infinite talent!

please finish it! :D

amazing stuff!

the intro was beautiful, suspensful, and intense.

the main dubstep stuff was powerful, repetitive, and crazy dirty xp

the end was round, pretty, and satisfying.

I guess my main complaint about this song is that it started getting really repetitive.. the mixing itself is excellent as always, though I think that some sections are missing some of the higher frequencies.

so a 9/10
and a download
