awesome mixing! .. but repetitive

the mixing was top notch. there is no doubt that you're the best audio artist here on newgrounds.. but after listening through this track, I feel it was a bit too repetitive for my tastes.. it was basically the same melody/bass-line the whole way through.. the structure of the song itself was very varied..

but overall, it was top notch record-quality work. great job! 5/5 10/10 looking forward to buying your album

it was good..

though there was way too much lows and too little highs.. felt like you had a high-pass filter on or something.. just really hurt my ears and thus the -2 stars ><

(might be because I have bass-heavy headphones.. but I highly doubt it)

I'm glad you liked it! No high pass filter though, I think it's just your headphones because it doesn't hurt my ears on my deep bass headphones. Oh well, thanks anyhow! God bless!

very well made song

although I really liked the strength of your percussion, I thought it was just too much for me to actually enjoy this piece.. kind of killed all the ambiance in the background.. and the song in general for me

nonetheless, 9/10 and a 5/5 for a great song

it's very good..

but I feel like you repeated some bars a little too much.. more than necessary.. (which got really annoying after about 50 listens)

Excellent!

very excellent song overall! That being said.. the bassline got really monotonous and boring, primarily because it never changed. I kind of wish there was a bit more side-chaining.. and a more heavier bass all-in-all (with more warmth in the tone).

that being said, it's pretty good :)
EDIT: after listening to it a couple times.. it kind of just got really annoying with the same bass-line.. and no real melody :\ (docked three stars from the original ten).

Thanks for the review and your honesty, I'm glad you like it overall. Yeah with the bass I just decided "hell this is good enough" I've been somewhat disheartened by my lack of processing power recently and haven't been spending a terrible lot of time on songs beyond getting some progression and mastering down. At least you took the time to review.

I loved the introduction and that middle bridge section from 1:16 to 1:35. Definitely had a lot of variety to it.. not so much in melody.. but definitely in structure. Even though this was 'bad' in comparison to how 'good' it could have been, I thought the mixing and the overall song was excellent (although I know nothing about mixing and am inexperienced when it comes to music production). Glad you decided to upload it here on newgrounds.

Do you have any tips on mastering and EQuing and such? What synths do you use to make your music productions? It would be really helpful if you could answer those questions as it would help me personally to improve in music making. Of course, you don't need to answer if you don't want to.

Thanks man, i use Fruity Loops 9 XXL Producers Edition with VST's such as z3ta+, TAL Elec7ro, Sylenth1 and Nexus with various expansions! :)
